San Diego de Alcala Church is one of the oldest churches with Baroque architecture in Metro Manila which was built to honor San Diego de Alcala, patron saint of the town. Some parts of the church were destroyed during the Japanese occupation but there are part of the structures that remained in the church today. Located at Barangay Poblacion, San Diego De Alcala Church was the first ever Parish in Valenzuela City. Residents celebrate the feast day of San Diego de Alcala on the 12th of November every year.

In Valenzuela City, San Roque is known as the Patron Saint of the unmarried. Sayawan sa Calle is hailed as the only celebration of its kind in the whole of Metro Manila which draws single men and women to ask for help in finding their true love. Several street dancing groups, in colorful costumes, from different barangays of Valenzuela and other cities and provinces participates in the dance parade. People dance continuously throughout the parade for the spectators on the side of the streets. Choreography ranges from traditional folk dances to pop modern and fusion.
