The World of Butterflies is the only place in Metro Manila where visitors can closely interact with butterflies. It is home for 20 species of butterflies. The place focuses on the conservation of butterflies and the preservation of the ecosystem. For those who are curious about the entire lifecycle of a butterfly, there is a viewing room where people can watch an educational audio-video documentary. Visitors can closely see different kinds of colorful butterflies flying and the caterpillars slowly crawling on leaves in the lush green garden. The place is Instagram worthy with its huge artificial butterflies and life-size butterfly mascots at the entrance.
The Spirit of Bethlehem Museum
The traditional Filipino Christmas symbol is the Belen, wherein it depicts the birth of Jesus in the manager or also known as the nativity scene. In Marikina, The Spirit of Bethlehem is a private collection of over 500 Nativity sculptures or Belen from all over the world. It is a collection from decades of devotion to the Infant Jesus, by its owner, Gigi Abaya-Carlos. About 80% of these Belens are proudly Philippine made. The Nativity sets came from different countries like the United States, Mexico, Spain, Israel, Africa, and all over the regions of the Philippines. If you want to know more about the traditional Christmas celebration in the Philippines, you should definitely visit this museum!
