Your prenuptial photos are probably the only ones you have total control of. It’s your only chance to make sure everything looks perfect! And a perfect shot calls for a perfect location, of which the Philippines has no shortage of.
Here are some of the best places to get that beautiful shot that will last you a lifetime:
1. Intramuros, Manila
The ancient Spanish town situated in the heart of Manila has something romantic about it. Pose in front of the 17th-century fort, or on the steps of the Basilica – any shot you take looks effortlessly elegant with these in the background.
2. Puka Beach, Boracay
Nothing is more beautiful than the beaches in Boracay, especially Puka shell beach. Aside from the blue waters and white sand, Puka Beach also has lots of interesting landmarks to pose with. Keep an eye out for the man-size “PUKA” sign as well as the many decorations made from seashells.
3. Man-made forest, Bohol
These trees look like they’ve been there forever, but they’ve only been planted in recent years. There are many lovely and quiet spots for you to take in this 2km-long forest. The weather is also more cooling than other parts due to the dense trees.
4. Molo Church, Iloilo
Also called St. Anne’s Parish, this church was built in the early 19th century for the patron Saint Anne. It’s known for the statues of 16 female saints that are placed in the aisle. Have your prenuptial shots here on a clear day and your friends will be wondering if you actually flew to Spain for it.
5. Puerto Princesa, Palawan
There’s a good reason why this place is called the most beautiful island in the world. It’s impossible to get a bad shot here, whether you’re on holiday or just there for a prenuptial photoshoot. Note: Use water-resistant makeup.
6. Yap-Sandiego Ancestral House, Cebu
This is one of the oldest houses in the whole of Philippines, built in the late 17th century. It’s so well preserved that you could actually see what it’s like to live in the house when it was first built. The space is also great for prenuptial photos, be it indoors or in the courtyard.
7. La Mesa Eco Park, Quezon
La Mesa Eco Park is probably one of the loveliest parks in the country. With so many greens and flora around, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to taking photos. We particularly like this couple’s ‘Up’ theme prenup shoot.
8. Fortune Island, Batangas
This private island is styled like a lost island in Greece, with ruins of Grecian pillars and statues on a cliff. It’s also known for being near the site where a Spanish ship sank 400 years ago. Needless to say, your prenups here will definitely look good on your Instagram.
9. Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar, Bataan
This is actually a beach resort that is modeled after a Spanish colonial village. Cobblestone streets with vintage-styled street lamps, brick bridges, Spanish heritage buildings – take your pick, we promise that you won’t be disappointed.
10. Pinto Art Museum, Rizal
Fan of the arts? You should definitely have your prenup shots taken at this quaint little museum. The museum is said to be built in the Mediterranean style, with white walls and rounded windows. If you prefer something more natural, the gardens around the museum look great too!
