Is you air conditioner running a little hot? Maybe it isn’t as cool as it was when you first installed it? Perhaps it’s time for a service but then again, it can be very troublesome to call the aircon experts, waiting for hours for them arrive at your home to carry out the air con cleaning and servicing.
Why not clean it on our own, like how the experts do? Here are a couple of pointers for keeping your air conditioner in top condition.
1. Remember that all air conditioners need regular maintenance and cleaning.
Just like a car, the air conditioner requires regular maintenance to perform at its optimal level. Indeed the most effective thing you can do for your air conditioner is to clean and maintain it with regularity before there is a problem.
2. The filter!
No, we are not talking about Instagram but your air conditioner filter. Like we covered in the previous paragraph, you need to clean the air filter every month to clear any accumulated dust, dirt and fine particles.
Other than that, you should clean the central cleaning unit too as dust particles would be present there. While you are at it, it would be a good idea to check each compartment of your air con for algae growth too. Next, open the blower compartment and vacuum up all the unnecessary dirt or particles.
3. Don’t forget the lube
Yes, we are still talking about air conditioners. If you air conditioner so happens to have a lubricant port, squeeze some oil onto it. But not all-purpose oil such as WD-40.
4. Evaporator and Condenser Coils
The evaporator and condenser coils or cooling fins, are important parts in an air conditioner. Spray a special commercial air con foam cleaner on the coils. You should be able to find this at a hardware store. Let the cleaner do the work for you. After a while spray it down with a hose. Make sure the power is disconnected when you’re doing this though.
If we keep these objects clean and right with regular maintenance, your air conditioners will work more efficiently. Once your evaporator is done and your air filter is reinstall, restart the unit. Isn’t it a lot cooler now?
If your aircon isn’t cooling the air fast enough or isn’t cooling at all, there are other problems with your air conditioner.
In this case, you may need an expert to look into the problem. Lucky for you, we have reliable air conditioning service experts on Gawin! Get in touch with us and we will help sort out your not-so-cool air conditioner.
