If your apartment has 99 problems, please make sure that hygiene is not one of them. The best way to keep out bacteria and germs is to maintain a clean and tidy home throughout the week.
Check out these cleaning hacks illustrated by our very own graphic designer!
1. Sweep the ceiling with a broom
The ceiling usually attracts cobwebs and thick strings of dust, but we know that cleaning it can be a pain.
Just slip a cloth over the bristles of your broom and secure it with a thick rubber band to start sweeping all that dirt away.
2. Clean your ceiling fan with a pillowcase
Not a fan of cleaning your fan? It’s easier than it sounds! Drape an old pillowcase over the blades and swipe it through, so the dust goes conveniently into the pillowcase.
3. Get the grease off your dishes with baking soda
We know how much you dislike doing the dishes, but dirty dishes won’t clean themselves. Baking soda helps to break down greasy or crusted food clumps on your plates while removing bad smells! It’s totally amazing. You should try it.
4. Tackle greasy stoves with vegetable oil
Whether you were frying an egg or sauteeing onions, oil splatters can’t exactly be avoided. When your stove gets greasy, it’s best to combat oil with oil. Dab some vegetable oil onto a paper towel and wipe or scrub the surface of your stove for a nice shine. Alternatively, you can also try wiping it down with vinegar or baking soda.
5. Clean your keyboard with cotton buds
When was the last time you actually cleaned your computer or laptop keyboard? Drive the tips of cotton buds through the gaps between the keys to eradicate all the dirt that’s been accumulating there for years.
6. Eradicate juice stains from carpets with shaving cream
Spilled juice on the carpet? Not to worry – shaving cream is here to save the day!
First, spray some shaving cream onto the carpet stain and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes. Then use a scrub and rub gently to avoid damaging the fabric. It’s important to work the cream from the outer edge of the stain towards the middle, so you won’t risk spreading the stain. Apply water and vinegar to a cloth, and ensuring that it stays damp, blot the stain dry. Alternatively, you could also vacuum the shaving cream away, depending on the type of vacuum you own.
If you’d rather not take the risk with an expensive carpet, hire our professional carpet cleaners!
7. Remove coffee or tea stains with *gasp* beer!
Yes, you read that right. So the next time you leak coffee or tea on your favorite carpet, dab all the liquid out before pouring some room-temperature beer to the stain. Then use a cloth to blot the spot repeatedly until the stain is lifted. Once that’s settled, apply warm water to flush out any residue.
We understand that cleaning can be time-consuming, so if you need an extra hand, we’re happy to help. Contact our professional cleaners at Gawin.ph at affordable rates! A clean home isn’t unattainable – it’s all about making it happen.
